Leah Black, PgD

International Trainer, Eco-Coach, Conservation & Nature Connection, Youth & Community Specialist for Environmental, Personal & Social Change

Ms. Black’s career began 20 years ago in the field of wildlife conservation, her childhood dream. During her BS degree program, she realized that if you are passionate enough about something, and focused on the vision, absolutely nothing will stop you from achieving it, no matter how difficult things can be.

Ms. Black worked for an environmental charity, where she thrived in nature reserves and communities across the English Mersey Valley. She took a special interest in nocturnal species conservation and spent many moonlit evenings monitoring badgers and bats. Overtime, her work alongside the young people volunteering on the reserves turned into a passion, which temporarily drew Ms. Black away from the conservation work she loved so much to start a new journey—a ‘call to adventure’ into the world of youth work.

Nowadays, Ms. Black brings both passions together through human-nature connection, as an international eco-coach, life purpose coach, conservationist and trainer for young people, and adults alike. For the last 16 years, she has worked with young people and communities in the UK, Ecuador, Zambia, Kenya, Uganda, and virtually across the globe. Ms. Black is a Level 7 JNC professionally-qualified youth and community worker. She holds a master’s level post graduate diploma (PgD) in youth and community work, as well as specialization certifications as an EMCC-accredited senior practitioner in mentoring and coaching, and an ACTP-certified coach.

Ms. Black strongly believes that core life, social, leadership, and nature connection skills should be made available for all young people across the world to enhance their personal, professional, and eco-consciousness development for environmental and social change. She strives to prepare future generations to be the best they can be for themselves, for others, and for the sustainable development of the world. Ms. Black delivers her coaching in-person and online.

Ms. Black lives in the mountains of Asturias, Northern Spain, and enjoys hiking with her dog through the forests, past waterfalls and mountain peaks, while enjoying the wildlife and tranquility. Here, inspired by nature, sunrises, and local culture, she gets to fulfill her core values like freedom, empathy, nature, culture, and adventure.
