The sounds of the forest, the scent of the flowers, the wind playing through the leaves, the feel of water in a stream – these experiences act as a balm for our busy lives. The key is not to hike a long distance or climb a mountain, but to leave behind the stress of our daily lives as we help to inspire your curiosity, awareness, and re-sensitize your senses to the natural world around you, all the while receiving nature’s many health benefits.

Writing As A Gateway To The Soul

In partnership with Sholom Park, Ocala, Florida

Friday, February 14, 2025 from 12:00pm - 1:45pm

Like myth, memoir presupposes that there is a certain unity to human experience, that we all share similar hopes, dreams, and desires. When we tell the story of how and where we grew up, who our parents were, how the significant people in our lives influenced us, and what challenges and obstacles we faced, we are locating ourselves within an ancient human tradition of storytelling and meaning-making. Writing down our stories helps us to find meaning in our lives by showing us how our lives fit into a larger mythic pattern. Immerse yourself in a holistic experience that facilitates the ability to compassionately hear and release the stories that live within you, for they exist to heal and restore you.

We are thrilled to introduce Dr. Joanna Gardner, a writer, mythologist, and PhD in Mythological Studies with an emphasis in Depth Psychology. Dr. Gardner, who also serves as an iRewild Thought Leader, Managing Editor on the Educational Task Force of the Joseph Campbell Foundation, and an adjunct professor at Pacifica Graduate Institute, coaches writers to find their voice and believes that changing our stories can transform our lives and society.

In partnership with Sholom Park, Ocala, Florida

Saturday, February 15, 2025 from 12:00PM - 1:45PM

Have you ever wondered why you feel more energized while spending time outdoors? Why sitting in the sand by the ocean, hiking through the woods, having a picnic in a park, or swimming in a lake leave you feeling both invigorated and at peace? Mounting scientific evidence is now showing how experiencing nature can facilitate improvements in our overall health and life: our immune system is boosted; oxygen uptake is higher; lung and heart functions are improved; our body produces increased endorphins; and cellular repair mechanisms are more efficient.

Peter Angood, MD delivers a life changing presentation where participants learn about the science of how nature exposure is beneficial to their wellness and life overall.

FEBRUARY 16, 2024

As we step into February, a month synonymous with love, we explore the compelling emotions of awe and wonder, rediscovering the hidden beauty residing within our own hearts and souls, as well as the beauty found in nature. In the ancient Greek myth of Cupid and Psyche, we encounter a story that symbolizes the marriage between love and the soul. Cupid, or Eros, represents a profound love that inspires the pursuit of wisdom, while the goddess Psyche, embodies the Greek concept for soul or breath of life. Together, their ultimate union gives birth to beautyBy bringing forth the beauty of the soul in our lives, we unearth the deepest realms of human existence. Our discussion concludes with a guided meditation designed for you to meet your divine self, the very essence of your being – a moment to rediscover the beauty of your true nature. –– Ida Covi, is an ecopsychologist with a graduate degree in depth psychology.
